Unless you live under a rock, you already know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In fact, you’ve likely seen more pink over the past two weeks than you did in the first 9 months of the year. Hell, last week, even the White House was pink!

Despite being inundated with ribbons, advertisements, and touching survivor stories to the point of oblivion, I did notice this bumper sticker, and it made me laugh out loud.

Any bets on how this driver will vote in November? Looks like she may have some hostility toward the current administration. Could we consider it “outrage”?

In an article at WSJ.com, “Where’s The Outrage?” Professor Arthur C. Brooks proposes that there may actually be a lack of outrage in the US, according to a recent survey. In the article he states:

Virtually every group in the population is less angry in 2008 than in 1996 — those making more and those making less than the average income; college-educated and noncollege-educated folks; men and women.

Only one major group in the population has gotten angrier: people who call themselves “very liberal.” While conservatives, moderates and nonextreme liberals all have seen their average levels of outrage fall over the past 12 years, the number of angry days among our leftiest neighbors has risen 56% (to 2.28 from 1.46), and the percentage with no angry days in the past week has fallen to 31% from 37%. Today, very liberal people spend more than twice as much time feeling angry as do political moderates. One in seven is outraged seven days a week.

I’m guessing that the driver of this Beetle is that 1 in 7.

You gotta LOVE this bumper sticker!
I was glad to see that I’m not the only one who gets worked up when I see smokers toss their cigarette butts out the car window.
Maybe next time I see some oblivious idiot pitch a (usually still-burning) butt from their vehicle, I’ll shout, “Hey, why don’t you hold on to your butt!” [...]
