Spring Skiing Rocks!

Here’s some advice I’m happy to take.  Heading to Steamboat Springs for a week with snowboards in tow!

Life Is Grand

With a pending trip to San Diego this week, and snowboarding at Steamboat Springs soon after that, life certainly is feeling awesome!

Must Be Marc Warnke’s Car

If you know anything about Marc Warnke, you’d jump to the same conclusion I did, presuming that the driver of this Infiniti was indeed the Family First Entrepreneur.

But….Mark is not from Kansas, and he wasn’t driving around North Scottsdale yesterday afternoon.  Am not sure if he’s even an Infiniti kind of guy.  I’m guessing he’s more likely behind the wheel of a Jeep or minivan.

But I’m not sure, as I’ve never met him – directly.

Marc is the author of Options Not Obligations: Enrich Your Personal Life by Rethinking Your Financial Life.  He’s also a professional speaker and Life Coach with the philosophy that investing in business relationships can bring you life balance and financial stability in our uncertain world.

I’ve been motivated and touched by Marc’s blog posts over the past few weeks.  A hungry crowd – myself included – is awaiting the upcoming release of this book in April.  You can pre-order a copy today.  If you’d rather get to know Marc a little before investing $14.95, you can follow his adventures on twitter: he is @marcwarnke.

Parkour Is Not For Us Old Folks

My very energetic daughter is loving the parkour classes at Scottsdale Gymnastics.  I’m loving the Friday night activity that leaves her exhausted, thus eliminating any requests about staying up late.  On a more serious note, I’m thrilled with the confidence she’s building, and the fact that a mild injury no longer evokes tears and agony – she’s now decided to be tough around the “big boys,” as she’s usually the only girl in the class!

Never heard of Parkour?  Also known as Free Running – was featured in opening scene of Casino Royale. Here’s a cool video from Julie Angel of Parkour Generations.

While I do love watching the Parkour class and even envision myself flying over those barriers sometimes, I’ve concluded that - since I’m flirting with forty – that snowboarding should remain my one “crazy mom” activity.

McLovin Spotted At Starbucks – Or Was It Frank Kern?

Well, OK, so I didn’t actually see McLovin (or Kern)….I only saw this vanity plate outside Starbucks.  If you’re not familiar with dear McLovin and the hilarious story involving his fake ID, be sure check out the movie and other Superbad stuff.

For those of you familiar with marketing genius Frank Kern, you already know about his self-proclaimed Superbad-ness and that the title is well earned.

Mustang Owners Are So Witty

We see a lot of unimaginitive vanity plates.  Like the Mercedes with the plate that says “Benz” or the Audi plate reading “My Audi”.  So although my headline sounds sarcastic, I thought both of these Mustang owners came up with cute ideas.

Got Oatz?

Does Size REALLY Matter?

25INCHS

Was wondering what he was bragging about, then I noticed his ridiculously oversized tires.  Mystery solved.

Size doesn\'t always matter

Hummers Are Very Tough

One Tough Hummer

Tough?!  That may be, but like most Hummers I see on the road, there wasn’t a speck of dirt on it.

I’m thinking that the toughest thing about this Hummer is taking it to the gas pump.

Want To Play A Game?

No Games

This plate owner:

a) Boycotted the Olympics
b) Has had a string of bad relationships
c) Is the parent of a toddler and is really tired of “Candy Land”

I could use this plate - I’ve definitely had my fill of Candy Land.

Vanity Plates For Your Smart Car

Smart CarA friend of mine reports that she has officially become a “Smart Enthusiast.”

“Is that like being a member of Mensa?” I asked, clueless.

Not exactly.

According to the Smart Car website, this just means that she has put down a $99 deposit to reserve her new car.

The conversation then turned to potential vanity plates.  Here’s what we came up with – which do you like best?
