<p> </p>
<p>My very energetic daughter is loving the parkour classes at <a href="http://www.scottsdalegymnastics.com/" target="_blank">Scottsdale Gymnastics</a>.  I&#8217;m loving the Friday night activity that leaves her exhausted, thus eliminating any requests about staying up late.  On a more serious note, I&#8217;m thrilled with the confidence she&#8217;s building, and the fact that a mild injury no longer evokes tears and agony &#8211; she&#8217;s now decided to be tough around the &#8220;big boys,&#8221; as she&#8217;s usually the only girl in the class! </p>
<p>Never heard of Parkour?  Also known as Free Running &#8211; was featured in opening scene of <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/carsconversing-20?%5Fencoding=UTF8&amp;node=2" target="_blank">Casino Royale</a>. Here&#8217;s a cool video from Julie Angel of <a href="http://www.julieangel.com/Julie_Angel_parkour_films.html" target="_blank">Parkour Generations</a>.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="425" height="344" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/s-Mqq0Z7eg0&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/s-Mqq0Z7eg0&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>
<p> </p>
<p>While I <em><strong>do</strong></em> love watching the Parkour class and even envision myself flying over those barriers sometimes, I&#8217;ve concluded that - since I&#8217;m flirting with forty &#8211; that snowboarding should remain my one &#8220;crazy mom&#8221; activity.</p>

<p>I was cool once. </p>
<p>There was actually a time when I was so tied in to pop culture - and even some subculture &#8211; that I would have immediately known the answer to this one.</p>
<p>But that was a long time ago.</p>
<p>So after seeing this plate repeatedly at a particular industrial park, I swallowed my pride, accepted my current-day &#8220;non-coolness&#8221; and turned to the <a href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sadatay" target="_blank">Urban Dictionary</a> to enlighten me.</p>
<p>Of course, discovering the definition just depressed me further&#8230;.additional evidence of my lost hipness.  &#8220;Who,&#8221; I asked myself, &#8220;Is the &#8216;Great <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Pootie-Tang-Reg-E-Cathey/dp/B00005JK8N" target="_blank">Pootie Tang</a>&#8216;?&#8221;</p>
<p>And then I found the Pootie Tang trailer on <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flqAvJxgKJQ" target="_blank">YouTube</a>.   I wonder if it&#8217;s as good as <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072895/" target="_blank">Dolomite</a>?  </p>
<p>Did I mention that it&#8217;s been a while since I was cool?&#8230;.</p>
<p> </p>
